Raw Material Crushing

In the production of activated carbon, the crushing of raw materials is a critical stage that determines the effectiveness of subsequent carbonization and activation processes. New Carbon Coming strictly controls this crushing stage to ensure:

Particle Size Standard

The fineness of the crushed raw material must exceed 180 mesh (with 95% passing), thereby ensuring uniformity in the subsequent molding and activation processes, as well as the structural strength of the final product.

Impurity Removal Standard

Through a combined process of magnetic separation and screening, the content of impurities—such as metals and gangue—within the raw material is maintained below 0.1%, thereby safeguarding both product purity and equipment safety.

Moisture Content Standard

Prior to crushing, the moisture content of the raw material is strictly controlled within the range of 8% to 12%; this prevents equipment clogging and over-pulverization, while simultaneously enhancing crushing efficiency and the overall quality of the powdered material.

Advanced Equipment

New Carbon Coming employs an advanced high-pressure hydraulic forming system (maintaining a stable pressure of 200–240 kg/cm²), equipped with a DCS automatic control system to ensure a precise and stable extrusion process.

Superior Strength

New Carbon Coming prioritizes product durability; our products feature a compressive strength of ≥70 N (surpassing the national standard of ≥50 N) and an abrasion resistance of ≥97%. They demonstrate excellent resistance to impact and regeneration cycles, resulting in a significantly longer service life.

High Uniformity

Particles within the 0.5–4.0 mm size range account for ≥85% of the product, with a batch-to-batch particle uniformity of ≥90%. This ensures consistent heat distribution during the subsequent activation process, thereby guaranteeing stable product quality.

Forming (Granulation)

Finely ground powder is mixed and kneaded with an appropriate amount of binder (such as coal tar) and water, then pressed through a forming machine into specific shapes—typically cylindrical pellets or briquettes.

Carbonization and Activation

New Carbon Coming has introduced internationally advanced carbonization and activation production equipment, achieving precise control over key parameters such as carbonization temperature, activation medium, and residence time. This technology marks a significant breakthrough for us in the field of activated carbon production:

Leading Equipment

Utilizing the upgraded SLP588 activation furnace and LD2900 carbonization line, the system features a large-scale configuration of 5 carbonization lines paired with 6 activation lines; this setup delivers superior production capacity and operational stability compared to standard single-line industry layouts.

Leading Quality

Our coal-based columnar activated carbon boasts an iodine value of 800–1200 mg/g and a compressive strength of 90–95%. These specifications significantly surpass those of general-purpose activated carbon (typically 500–800 mg/g iodine value) and are characterized by exceptional uniformity.

Leading Sustainability

Employing a negative-pressure closed-loop circulation system, the facility recovers waste heat from exhaust gases to generate 53,700 tons of steam annually, while simultaneously reducing SO₂ emissions by 183.7 tons per year—thereby achieving truly clean production.

In-Process Self-Inspection

Quality control checkpoints are established at every stage of the production process—including pulverizing, kneading, molding, carbonization, and activation. Operators perform initial checks and routine spot checks on key metrics against established parameters to ensure that non-conforming products do not advance to the next stage.

Inter-Team Cross-Inspection

A system of cross-inspection is implemented between consecutive production stages. The teams involved in the shift handover jointly verify and sign off on core parameters—such as particle size, appearance, and moisture content—of the intermediate products, thereby establishing a multi-layered quality assurance mechanism.

Final Inspection by Quality Specialists

Equipped with high-end testing instruments—including fully automated multi-station micropore analyzers, ICP-MS systems, and laser particle size analyzers—our dedicated Quality Department personnel conduct precise, comprehensive testing on every product batch. They rigorously analyze all key indicators—such as iodine adsorption value, specific surface area, mechanical strength, and heavy metal content—and issue a fully traceable inspection report before the product is authorized for release from the facility.

Testing

We strictly monitor and continuously optimize our pore-size control processes for activated carbon to ensure it delivers optimal performance across a wide range of applications. Unlike most manufacturers who rely on third-party testing, New Carbon Coming possesses comprehensive in-house testing facilities:

Packaging

New Carbon Coming embraces diversity and offers customized packaging solutions tailored to meet our clients' specific requirements.

Automated Packaging

Equipped with fully automated packaging machinery, our system seamlessly integrates weighing, feeding, and sealing processes. This ensures high operational efficiency and features an integrated dust removal system to maintain a clean and pristine production environment.

Moisture-Proof Sealing

We utilize multi-layer, high-barrier packaging—including aluminum foil bags and vacuum sealing—to effectively prevent activated carbon from absorbing moisture and losing its efficacy, thereby guaranteeing stable and consistent adsorption performance.

Precise Traceability

With a weighing accuracy of ±0.2%, every production batch is coded and sampled for retention purposes. Furthermore, our process incorporates X-ray foreign object detection, ensuring comprehensive traceability from the initial stage of production through to final delivery.
